Social Support for People living with HIV in Sheffield
Building on our work in other parts of Yorkshire, MESMAC are working with the Stonegrove Centre to build on the Sheffield HIV peer support programme.
Our peer mentoring programme supports people who are newly diagnosed, those who might be finding life a bit tough, feeling lonely or having difficulty taking meds, etc.
Our peer mentor will support you by sharing their knowledge and providing emotional support, information and advocacy around welfare, immigration, housing, drug use and any other issues to you.
As well as one-to one peer support, we will be offering groups sessions because we know that meeting with, talking to and laughing with other people living with HIV is both rewarding and empowering. If you are living with HIV and using the Stonegrove centre please let us know what groups you might find useful - anything from a mum and toddlers group, coffee group, to a Gay men group. We're open to listening to you and taking action. Our service is tailored around you.
