The Bad Mittens _{Community run group}

This LGBT+ inclusive Badminton group launched on Wednesday 20th July 2016 and has seen considerable membership growth, with 700+ members currently registered with them.

The group meets twice weekly at Armley Leisure Centre: – Wednesday 8pm until 9pm and Sunday midday until 2pm, both limited to 18 players.

They also meet once a week at Morley Leisure Centre: – Thursday 8pm until 9pm, limited to 14 players.

The group also hold twice monthly sessions at Kirkstall Leisure Centre, typically first and third Monday, 7pm until 8pm.

Spaces are set based on court availability, so early booking is recommended as the sessions usually sell out a few days in advance.

The group are unable to accept ‘walk ins’ so all places must be booked in advance via their website.

The group welcomes anyone from beginner to intermediate player levels, but ask you to note that the group focus is on fun & friendly play so if you’re looking for competitive games then The Bad Mittens probably isn’t the right group for you.

Whether you’re looking to get fit, socialise or make friends they welcome all new members into the group - and you don’t have to be the best player to participate.

The games played are usually mixed doubles, with players swapping around between each game so you don’t have to worry if you’re attending by yourself.
