We understand that, viewed out of context of Yorkshire MESMAC’s suite of policies including safeguarding of children and safeguarding adults at risk, there is a possibility that this code of conduct could be misunderstood.

Yorkshire MESMAC takes safeguarding extremely seriously, staff undertake external safeguarding training, during induction and regularly thereafter as part of their continuous professional development. Safeguarding is a standing item on staff meeting agendas and one-to-one supervision sessions.

Once made aware of how the policy could be misunderstood by the casual reader, Yorkshire MESMAC Chief Executive redrafted the policy which is now with external safeguarding experts for comments.

There is no suggestion that any young people or adults at risk were harmed in anyway by this code of conduct.
