Trans and non-binary
Yorkshire MESMAC supports trans and non-binary people from all walks of life. We have collected the latest trans and non-binary friendly resources around sex, relationships, bodies and STIs.
Gender outreach workers
Jamie and Sophie are from Leeds GIC (Gender Identity Clinic) / LGIS (Leeds Gender Identity Services) which engage with people over the age of 17. Jamie and Sophie host and provide a range of events, drop in sessions, group meetings and one to one support sessions for trans and non-binary people.
The drop-in sessions are designed to be a friendly and open opportunity to ask questions and explore particular topics and themes. People are free to drop in at any point during these session times and leave whenever they like.
Support and social groups are an informal and friendly way to meet and socialise with other trans and non-binary people. It is an opportunity to share experiences, gain peer support as well as gain additional help, support and advice from the gender outreach workers.
If you have not already done so and would like to have a one to one session with one of the Gender Outreach Workers please contact Jamie or Sophie directly to organise this. You can contact Jamie on Jamie.firstname.lastname@example.org or Sophie on email@example.com. These one to one sessions are available specifically for all those on the waiting list to be seen at the GIC. The sessions are there for you to ask questions and gain additional help and support during this interim period whilst you are on the waiting list.
TranzWiki is a comprehensive directory of the groups campaigning for, supporting or assisting trans and gender non-conforming individuals, including those who are non-binary and non-gender, as well as their families across the UK. It has been developed by GIRES to support the trans community but its content is determined by a broad range of stakeholders.
