Well-being support groups and therapeutic workshops
Our counselling co-ordinator, along with trained peer mentors facilitate a variety of support groups and workshops across Bradford for LGBT+ people to help improve mental health and resilience.
LGBTQ+ Rainbow Well-being groups are monthly support groups of 2 hours.
Ahead of the support groups, we will arrange to have a chat with you and two trained facilitators to check in with you around your mental health.
Depending on the needs of the group this may be followed by a therapeutic session, which generally includes: self-awareness exercises, teaching self-help techniques, guided therapeutic work and mindfulness.
New and returning members are always welcome, with no obligation or commitment to attend every session.
Tea and coffee are provided and all LGBTQ+ people welcome.
Runs on the 4th Thursday each month from 6.00 – 8.00pm in the Bradford MESMAC office
Contact our counselling co-ordinator for more information on 07771 931 327 or firstname.lastname@example.org
We offer 3 well-being workshops on a four monthly basis across various Bradford locations. Sessions are usually 2.5hrs each and may run as 3 consecutive groups or as one offs.
Workshops will cover a variety of topics designed to meet the needs of LGBTQ_+ people, including: mindfulness (beginners and continuing), Trans+cending Transition (Trans specific), Dealing with Stress / Anxiety, Dealing with Seasonal Blues, Living my ‘Truth’ and more.
Workshops are practical and participatory and include self-awareness exercises, self-help techniques, guided therapeutic work etc.
These can be offered to specific groups and can be tailored to the specific needs of those attending the groups (assertiveness, self-esteem, confidence etc.)
