Cruising Site incidents

It has been brought to our attention that there have been several incidents across numerous cruising sites around Yorkshire, involving men using the sites. We are aware that some of these incidents have been reported to the police and we have been in communication with the victims of the attacks. Please be aware that while these incidents are rare, they will be taken seriously if reported. Our staff at MESMAC are more than happy to talk to you if you have been involved or witnessed any similar incidents.

The police are responding to reports as hate crimes due to the identity of the people targeted, if you would like to speak to an LGBT officer, this can be discussed and arranged with the police when reporting.

Our buildings are hate crime reporting centres, and you can report anonymously if you do not want your personal details shared. MESMAC staff can also offer some 1-2-1 support to see how we can further support you. We have counselling services for those living in Leeds Bradford or Wakefield which we can refer you to if appropriate.

Please do not hesitate to contact Yorkshire MESMAC if you are concerned and would like to talk to someone. You can find all of our contact details for our different offices here: mesmac.co.uk/contact
