Our group is called the LGBTQ+ (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Trans* and Questioning) Peer Support Group for young people between 16-25 years old that is run through the Leeds City Council Youth Offer Improvement Team. This group is designed to further support young people, that may be too old for our other groups, with issues such as homophobia, transphobia, housing, life skills, emotional support, sexual health & many other topics with the aim of enabling these young people to be equipped with the ability to support themselves & support younger people who are part of the LGBTQ+ community.

We want to form a team of Peers that are willing to use their own personal experiences to assist other LGBTQ+ Young People with the obstacles they face in life.

We aim to achieve to this through workshops, group sessions/discussions, awareness campaigns, progressive qualifications looking at topics such as Stress Management, Finance Budgeting, Homophobia & Transphobia using the passion, knowledge & experiences of the members of the group to support other Young People, educate society (schools, parents & local authorities) on the correct use of pronouns, gender intelligence & the correct definitions of sexuality & gender.

We meet every Wednesday between 5:30pm to 7:30pm at a central Leeds location.

If you are interested please get in touch with one of our Youth Workers Ciarán on 07595211139 or Candice on 07891270995 for more information & directions to our location.
