Community Development Worker - Young People (Hull)

We are seeking a part-time Community Development Worker to improve sexual health outcomes in Hull, primarily working with Young People (17 hours per week)

Overall aim:

To reduce the incidence of teen conceptions, STI infection and unsafe relationships between young people in Hull. 

Primary Objectives:

To work with young people on a one to one basis, and in small groups, to provide support and learning around safer sex, prevention of teen conceptions, healthy relationships, consent, CSE, the grooming cycle and online safety.

To undertake outreach work, focusing on Young people in colleges, schools, community centres, youth centres, youth projects, and outreach to other settings that young people use. 

To offer information and sexual health resources, including condoms and lube in a variety of settings, including over the telephone, face to face and over the internet.

To deliver appropriate community based sexual health interventions including HIV point of care tests (POCT) and chlamydia tests to the target groups in community settings.

Salary: NJC scale 6 (points 18 - 22) starting at £29,269 per annum pro-rata for 17 hours per week. There is a 5% workplace pension and membership of Paycare additions. This post is subject to an Enhanced DBS with barred lists check.
