training and consultancy services

Yorkshire MESMAC works with other professionals to ensure that services are relevant and accessible for Gay and Bisexual men.

We are able offer training sessions, free of charge, to voluntary sector organisations, sexual health professionals and public sector bodies in the Bradford, Leeds and Wakefield districts and through out North Yorkshire. We also provide training and support to both West and North Yorkshire Police services.

Sessions can be tailored to your individual needs, ranging from a one-hour session to a whole day.

Content can include an overview of the work of Yorkshire MESMAC, updates on current issues affecting gay and bisexual men and men who have sex with men, specific service delivery issues, and raising awareness of heterosexism and homophobia. We aim to be as responsive as possible to individual requests, just let us know what you need.

All of our offices have meeting rooms/training space available for community groups to use free of charge. . This can be for one-off meetings or for more regular get-togethers and can be used during the daytime, evenings or weekends, subject to availability.

The space on offer varies from office to office. Unfortunately, not all of our meeting spaces are wheelchair accessible. We can however usually arrange to meet you or offer our services in an accessible venue. You can contact your local office to find out further details.

We try to be flexible with the use of our space, and are especially keen to see it being used for services or activities which directly involve or benefit LGB people, but we are also keen to support the wider voluntary and community sectors. All groups using this space should be aware that there may be some imagery or resources around which are of a sexual nature, reflecting the work of Yorkshire MESMAC.
