- Post Exposure Prophylaxis
PEP is a course of anti-HIV medication
to be taken daily over the course of a month. It has
been available for HIV prevention since the 1990s for health
workers who have had 'needle-stick' or similar injuries.
More recently, PEP has been made available under strict guidelines
