Scene Screen
Now they’re really taking the piss.
Yorkshire MESMAC have added Gonorrhoea screening to their scene screen programme.
Visit Yorkshire MESMAC's Leeds office from 6.00pm to 7.30pm every Thursday to access Yorkshire MESMAC's Community Testing Service.
Tom Doyle from MESMAC explains, ‘Gonorrhoea is a serious and widespread Sexually Transmitted Infection (STI). In men symptoms can include a yellow or off-white discharge from the penis and a pain when having a pee. Because some people don’t show symptoms you may not even know that you have Gonorrhoea.
The good news for men is that the test is done on a urine sample; we do not take swabs. Your sample is sent off to a lab to be tested and you will get your results, usually within a week. The even better news is that once diagnosed, Gonorrhoea is easily treated with a short course of antibiotics.
