New Steam Sessions
Yorkshire MESMAC is offering free Gonorrhoea and Chlamydia urine screening and free Hepatitis B vaccinations at our Sauna Sessions in the Steam Complex Sauna.
The Sauna Sessions are on Sunday 11 th April 6pm to 10pm and then a change to Saturdays from 6pm to 10pm on the following dates; 24th April, 8th May, 22nd May, 5th June and 19th June.
If you would like a check up for Chlamydia and Gonorrhoea while at the Steam Complex then all you need to do is provide a urine sample for the Yorkshire MESMAC staff to send off to a lab to be tested.
The results come back within 2 weeks and men can choose to be notified by phone or post. The good news is that if either STI is found they can be easily treated with a course of antibiotics.
On top of that, Yorkshire MESMAC is offering free Hepatitis B vaccination courses to protect you from getting Hepatitis B. The vaccinations will be given on the 1st, 2nd and 4th week.
Once the vaccination course has been completed, that will provide immunity from Hepatitis B for one year; a booster vaccination taken after a year from the first injection will provide five years immunity.
These vaccinations are delivered by our Testing Times nursing team.
If you can’t make it down at the Steam Complex, Yorkshire MESMAC also offers the same service every Thursday 6-8pm along with rapid HIV testing at the Leeds Yorkshire MESMAC office. For any questions or directions please ring Pete Boyle or Tom Hunt on 0113 244 4209 or email p.boyle@mesmac.co.ukt.hunt@mesmac.co.uk
